Introduction

Welcome to ArchaeoDash. By accessing or using our application, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please review them carefully. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use this application.

User Accounts

Registration

To use certain features of ArchaeoDash, you must register for an account. To register, click the LOGIN button on the left sidebar, check the checkbox by Register as a new user, and fill out the information. You must agree to the notice to complete registration. If you forget your password or username, email rbischoff@asu.edu.

Data Security and Privacy

Uploaded data will be stored in a secure database and you retain all rights to your data. You must be logged in to access your data. No guarantees are made regarding the persistence of data storage. Please back up your data regularly.

Saved Transformations

When logged in, you may save named transformations from the Data Manager. Saved transformations are stored as account-linked data products (including transformed element data and optional PCA/UMAP/LDA result tables) so they can be reloaded later. You are responsible for naming, organizing, and backing up these transformations.

Limitation of Liability

ArchaeoDash is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the application will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Changes to the Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the application constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

ArchaeoDash is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information Collection

Account Information

When you register for an account, we collect personal information such as your username and email address.

Data Uploads

When you upload data to ArchaeoDash, the data is stored in our secure database. You retain all rights to your data.

Saved Transformations

If you are logged in, named transformations you save from the Data Manager (including transformed element data and optional PCA/UMAP/LDA result tables) are stored in the database under your account and linked to the selected dataset(s).

Cookies

If you accept cookies, ArchaeoDash stores a local remembered-login token on your device so you can remain signed in for up to 30 days. This token is used only for session restoration and is not used for advertising. You can decline cookies or log out at any time to clear the stored login token.

Use of Information

Account Information

Your account information is used to manage your access to the application and to contact you if necessary.

Data Usage

Uploaded data and saved transformations are used within the application to provide analysis and visualization features and to restore your saved analytical states. We do not share your data with third parties.

Data Security

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information and uploaded data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you wish to delete your account or request that we no longer use your data, please contact us at rbischoff@asu.edu.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the application after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
